Say Good Bye To Winter

March 28, 2009

Ski Roundtop Packing Up Winter

This year we are a bit over anxious to put Winter to bed. The Mountain Adventures projects and opening date for the Mountain Adventures are dependent on having a mostly dry Spring and getting started now! We are doing what we can while we wait for the Mountain to melt and dry up enough to work the ground and build the adventures.hosestubing

Snow making hoses are getting sorted out. We already pushed all the snow off of tubing and now we are just waiting for the rest to melt so that we can begin ground prep for tubing and OGO ball.

lumberLumber has been delivered and now we have to haul it up the mountain so that Alpine Towers can start construction of the Vertical Trek next week.

Bumper Boats are being moved to the adventure area and landscaping has been started. This area is below the existing Tubing lodge which will be Base Camp for the Summer.

bb2bbWe are clearing an area out to build The Woods. The multi-generational play park will be located below the Ramrod chair lift.

Our graphic designer Robin Bowersox designed a cool booth that included adventurers “zipping” on ziplines through the booth.  Great job, Robin!

OGO Ball @ PRPS State Conference

March 9, 2009

Pennsylvania Parks & Recreation Society Ogle The OGO

Ski Roundtop and the H2OGo were a big hit at the Pennsylvania Recreation And Park Society 62nd Annual expo held Sunday at Hershey Lodge and Convention Center. Andrew Oles, Superintendent of Recreation for Abington Township Parks and Recreation demonstrated how the OGO ball works indoors as a giant human hamster wheel.

At Roundtop, the ball will roll down the hill with 1-3 people inside as well as 5-10 gallons of water.  We had a DEMO of OGO Ball last week at Roundtop.
